Role Purpose
The Supervisor, Electrical leads the installation, testing, and compliance of electrical systems and equipment on construction projects. This role ensures electrical works meet approved specifications, schedules, and regulatory standards while coordinating teams across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Installation
- Supervise electrical works including lighting, power distribution, cable containment, cable laying, termination, earthing, and lightning protection.
- Coordinate the installation of DBs, SMDBs, MDBs, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and related equipment.
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with approved shop drawings and quality requirements.
Planning & Coordination
- Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and material submittals before starting work.
- Allocate manpower, tools, materials, and equipment according to daily work priorities.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm, and other project teams.
- Coordinate with engineers, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Progress & Quality Management
- Monitor site progress and ensure work is completed within the approved schedule.
- Ensure proper testing, commissioning, fault identification, and rectification of electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any delays or technical issues.
- Support snagging, de-snagging, final inspection, and project handover activities.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and toolbox-talk instructions.
- Verify that electrical work complies with UAE regulations and relevant project standards.
Reporting
- Prepare daily progress reports, manpower reports, material requests, and inspection requests.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or ITI qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in electrical MEP construction projects.
- UAE experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or oil and gas projects is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, load schedules, and cable schedules.
- Familiarity with testing equipment, electrical installation methods, and safety procedures.
- Strong supervision, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage technicians, electricians, helpers, and subcontractor personnel.
- ADNOC or other relevant client approval is an advantage.
