Role Overview
Store Keeper at Al Jomaih Energy and Water. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing warehouse operations, and ensuring efficient material flow to support the organization's maintenance and operational needs.
Role Purpose
Oversee all aspects of inventory management and warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, stock control, and documentation. Ensure accurate inventory records, optimize space utilization, and support maintenance and operational teams with timely access to materials and spare parts.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory items in the inventory management system.
- Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies or shortages.
- Monitor stock levels regularly and recommend reordering of items to avoid operational disruptions.
Receiving and Inspection
- Oversee receiving of materials, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring correct documentation and quality inspection.
- Verify that received items match purchase orders in terms of quantity and specifications.
Storage and Organization
- Organize the storage area to optimize space utilization and ensure materials are easily accessible and safely stored.
- Implement a systematic inventory labeling and categorization system to facilitate efficient item retrieval.
Order Processing
- Prepare requisitions for items needed based on inventory levels and operational demands, collaborating with the Supply Chain Officer for approval.
- Process and monitor purchase orders for spare parts and materials, ensuring timely delivery to support maintenance and operational needs.
Stock Control
- Manage surplus and obsolete inventory, coordinating with relevant departments to find solutions for excess stock.
Documentation and Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory movements, receipts, and shipments in the inventory management system.
- Prepare reports on inventory levels, stock valuations, and transaction histories for review by the Supply Chain Officer.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
- Adhere to safety protocols and organizational policies regarding material handling, storage, and waste management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with maintenance, operations, and procurement teams to ensure alignment between inventory management and operational needs.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to address issues regarding deliveries, quality, or specifications.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for improving inventory management processes and warehouse operations, making recommendations to the Supply Chain Officer.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills related to inventory management and storekeeping best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Diploma or degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in storekeeping or inventory management, preferably in an industrial or power generation environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in inventory management software and MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory records.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
