Role Purpose

Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise storage infrastructure for mission-critical applications and databases, with focus on Storage Area Networks, backup systems, and virtualization technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Storage Infrastructure

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Brocade SAN switches.
• Maintain extensive technical knowledge and experience in operational maintenance, availability, capacity planning, and monitoring of critical Storage Area Networking (SAN).

Backup and Disaster Recovery

• Oversee NetBackup infrastructure to ensure best practices are in place and the infrastructure is optimized for performance and reliability.
• Work with the team to restructure the existing backup infrastructure and set a strategic plan for disaster recovery.

Systems Administration

• Administer Linux and UNIX server infrastructure and perform operational support activities including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Virtualization

• Provide technical leadership in the design, installation, configuration, and implementation of VMware products and services.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Minimum 8 years of experience engineering solutions and instrumentation for EMC and HP Storage Area Networks (SAN) for mission-critical, enterprise applications and databases.
• Linux Red Hat and RHCE certifications are an advantage.
• VMware Certified Professional designation is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong NetBackup experience required.
• Hands-on experience with VMware technologies.
• Linux and UNIX server infrastructure administration.
• EMC and HP Storage Area Networks (SAN) engineering.

• Selected candidates shall join VAM Systems – Qatar and shall be deputed to one of the leading Government Organizations in Qatar.
