Role Overview
Steward - Kitchen Stewards at Wynn Al Marjan Island, located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The resort is set to open in 2027 and will be the first integrated resort in the UAE.
Company Overview
Wynn Al Marjan Island will be an integrated resort located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theatre, a beach club, multiple swimming and wading pools, water features, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.
Role Purpose
The Steward supports kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of all kitchen equipment, work areas, and dishware. This role ensures the kitchen meets health and safety standards while supporting the broader team through flexible, responsive collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Sanitization
- Clean and store crockery, pots, and glassware accordingly.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and work areas, including ovens, stovetops, floors, and ceilings.
- Remove and dispose of kitchen garbage.
Safety and Compliance
- Use, handle, and store cleaning chemicals correctly.
- Follow health and safety standards and strive for continuous improvement to prevent health and injury hazards.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and comply with the Code of Conduct.
Environmental Responsibility
- Participate in the company recycling program and maintain strict discipline to reduce, reuse, and recycle wherever possible.
Team and Leadership
- Perform duties assigned by the Steward Team Leader and Supervisor.
- Interact professionally and positively with department and company employees, management, and contractors.
- Encourage good relationships, promote team spirit, and ensure effective two-way and multicultural communication.
- Attend departmental and interdepartmental meetings and share relevant information.
Personal Standards
- Remain well-mannered, well-groomed, and hygienic at all times, in accordance with department and company standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum educational qualification: completion of secondary school; higher academic credentials are considered an asset.
- No prior experience required; however, a minimum of 1 year of experience in the 5-star hotel industry or integrated resort is preferred.
- Knowledge of the correct use, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals.
Skills & Competencies
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Physically fit and capable of cleaning high areas, large equipment, and heavy lifting.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Team player who responds quickly to demands and thrives in a high-pressure work environment.
- Flexible with work schedules and able to work in shifts based on business needs.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.
