Steward position at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara, a property of Minor Hotels International, located in Doha, Qatar.

Role Purpose
The Steward maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in all kitchen areas, utensils, tableware, and cooking equipment, supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen and food and beverage outlets by ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen & Equipment Maintenance
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Ensure the cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and workstations.
- Handle all equipment carefully to avoid breakage or damage.
- Operate dishwashing machines and ensure they function properly.
Waste & Supply Management
- Collect and remove trash and recycling materials from designated areas.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals; report shortages.
- Sort and stack clean dishes; deliver them to proper storage areas.
Support & Operations
- Assist kitchen and service staff with setup and breakdown of buffets or banquets.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled, such as oven cleaning and grease traps.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow hotel safety and sanitation policies, including proper chemical handling.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a steward or dishwasher in a hotel or restaurant is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and stand for long hours.
- Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
