Role Overview

Staff Nurse - Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman (SKMCA).

Role Purpose

Provide high-quality nursing care to newborns requiring special care, ensuring the delivery of safe, evidence-based, and family-centered care in accordance with hospital policies and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Deliver direct nursing care to neonates requiring special care, including premature or low birth weight infants, or those with medical conditions.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and support feeding (oral, tube, or IV) as per care plan.
• Assist with procedures such as resuscitation, phototherapy, and IV therapy.

Documentation & Records

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and nursing records.

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Educate and support parents and families, encouraging involvement in the infant's care.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure infection control and patient safety protocols are strictly followed.

Professional Development

• Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Valid nursing license.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Neonatal/SCBU/NICU settings.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications.
