Role Overview
Staff Accountant at Flowserve. The successful candidate will analyse financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial activities within the organization.
Role Purpose
To support the accounting function by performing month-end closing activities, preparing financial reports, maintaining general ledger accuracy, and ensuring timely resolution of accounting issues under US-GAAP.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Actively participate in assigned accounting and month-end closing processes under US-GAAP.
- Perform month-end closings, general ledger account analysis, and Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
- Prepare SOX controls documentation.
- Provide daily and monthly reports to support the General Accounting team.
- Assist colleagues from the General Accounting team with reporting activities.
Stakeholder Management & Problem Resolution
- Maintain continuous contact with vendors and customers regarding fixed asset issues.
- Assist with the resolution of any issues that could impact the timely month-end closing.
General Accounting Operations
- Perform accounting activities with the team.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- BS or BA Degree in a relevant field.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Confident user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with stakeholders.
- Keen ability to build positive relationships.
- Flexibility and ability to cope with process changes.
- Basic knowledge and experience using ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP) is an advantage.
