Sr. Technical Engineer

Role Overview

Group AMANA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Technical Engineer to support projects in the Dammam region. The role is responsible for reviewing and coordinating mechanical designs, specifications, drawings, and BIM models to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, quality standards, and client expectations.

Role Purpose

Provide technical leadership in mechanical engineering design review, coordination, and validation throughout the project lifecycle. Drive effective multidisciplinary coordination, resolve engineering challenges, and ensure all mechanical systems meet project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards while supporting site execution and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Design Review and Validation

• Lead the review and validation of mechanical designs, engineering calculations, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
• Perform engineering calculations, technical assessments, and design reviews to ensure the integrity, functionality, and constructability of mechanical systems.
• Review and approve designs prepared by third parties, ensuring compatibility with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines where applicable.

Drawings and Documentation

• Develop, review, and approve detailed design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, technical reports, and engineering deliverables.
• Lead the preparation and timely issuance of IFP/IFF (Issued for Production/Fabrication), shop drawings, and SFC (Issued for Construction) drawings in line with project schedules and deliverable requirements.
• Maintain accurate engineering records, documentation, and project correspondence in accordance with company and project requirements.

BIM Coordination

• Coordinate closely with the BIM team to ensure timely model updates, clash resolution, and multidisciplinary integration.

Site and Construction Support

• Provide technical support to site and construction teams, conducting site visits and resolving engineering and execution-related challenges.

Stakeholder and Procurement Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, procurement teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and integrated delivery.
• Prepare technical scopes and bid packages for materials and subcontractors.
• Review engineering aspects of prequalification documents and material submissions, and support procurement activities as required.

Project Oversight

• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to quality, safety, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Manage engineering activities across multiple projects and act as the primary technical focal point during meetings, reviews, and stakeholder discussions.

Value Optimization

• Identify and propose value engineering opportunities during the execution stage to optimize project cost, efficiency, and performance.

Leadership and Development

• Mentor and guide Junior Technical Engineers, promoting technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and professional development.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering and MEP coordination within industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Good understanding of Saudi regulations and international standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA.
