Sr. QA/QC Engineer -Mechanical (MEP)

Role Overview

Senior QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical (MEP) at Al Shirawi Group. This role oversees quality control and assurance processes for mechanical systems in MEP projects across HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection installations.

Role Purpose

Ensure that all mechanical systems in MEP projects are installed in full compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards through rigorous inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Submittals and Documentation Review

• Review and approve method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and material submittals for mechanical systems.
• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, test certificates, and as-built records.
• Assist in preparing final project handover documentation.

Inspections and Testing

• Perform inspections and tests on HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting installations.
• Support testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems.
• Monitor work progress to ensure timely completion of quality inspections and tests.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other relevant standards.

Non-Conformity Management

• Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors on quality-related matters.

Audits and Quality Assurance

• Participate in internal and external quality audits.
