Role Overview
Senior Project Manager - Engineering at KBR responsible for large-scale engineering projects with financial and technical accountability.
Role Purpose
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of major engineering projects—typically with total installed costs under $500 million—from inception through closeout. Ensure financial performance, technical excellence, client satisfaction, and adherence to company policies and procedures across domestic and international portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Own all phases of project planning and execution on very large projects.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and control domestic and international projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
- Manage day-to-day client contact and communication, focusing on client satisfaction.
- Hold independent accountability for a major profit/loss center.
Contract & Performance Management
- Assume responsibility for management and contract performance on two or more smaller projects as an alternative assignment.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project deliverables.
Team Leadership
- Supervise project personnel through subordinate leaders.
- Lead and direct project teams to achieve technical and financial objectives.
Proposal Management
- May serve as proposal manager for major domestic and international project proposals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of related experience; average experience 20+ years.
- Several years of experience at the Project Manager level.
- Knowledge of the respective industry.
