Role Overview
Senior Offshore Material Coordinator at NMDC Group. The role manages end-to-end material logistics and coordination for offshore oil and gas operations, from onshore procurement through offshore delivery and project closeout.
Role Purpose
Own the complete materials management lifecycle—identification, procurement, tracking, storage, offshore delivery, and project closeout—ensuring safe, timely, and compliant supply of materials, tools, and equipment to offshore operations while leading the material and logistics team.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Process Development
- Plan and execute end-to-end material management from identification to offshore delivery and project closeout.
- Develop and apply project-specific material management procedures.
- Review and improve existing processes to align with project scope and address gaps.
- Develop lists of tools, tackles, and equipment required for offshore construction.
Procurement & Inventory Management
- Oversee procurement, tracking, storage, issuance, and certification of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Validate procurement lists with engineering and construction teams.
- Monitor stock, identify shortages, and escalate procurement needs.
- Maintain updated inventory records, calibration logs, and documentation with photos.
Offshore Operations & Logistics
- Support offshore teams with real-time logistics and materials coordination.
- Manage offshore AMRs and supervise storekeepers for compliance.
- Respond to AMRs during offshore campaigns to supply materials and maintain operational continuity.
- Implement Bag & Tag as per work packs and ensure proper preservation and reconciliation of tools and surplus.
- Control issuance of materials (tools, tackles, consumables) through offshore store operations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Generate material issuance notes and offshore material status reports.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports on inventory and material movement.
- Reconcile and prepare RTS documentation and final inventory at project close.
Transportation & Customs
- Coordinate logistics, customs documentation, and cargo load-outs for sea transport.
- Track and ensure safe, timely offshore material delivery.
- Manage logistics and transportation to KSA by road, air, and sea.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead material and logistics team while promoting safety and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant delivery of materials.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in a related discipline or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in material and logistics coordination with a focus on offshore operations.
- Understanding of the Offshore Oil and Gas, Energy, or EPCI sector.
- Valid Offshore Training certifications.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Capable of using external software such as SAP or similar Oracle-based tools.
- Clear and concise English communication (spoken and written).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with offshore store operations and material issuance control.
Additional Information
- Interfacing with Procurement, Warehouse, and Logistics departments to ensure timely material availability.
- Responding to material requests during offshore campaigns to maintain operational continuity.
