Role Purpose
Conduct comprehensive mechanical inspections of pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems, and mechanical components to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. Verify quality and integrity of fabrication, erection, and maintenance procedures while leading junior inspectors and maintaining alignment with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection Operations
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems, and mechanical components to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Perform welding inspections in accordance with CSWIP 3.2 standards, including visual inspections, dimensional checks, and defect identification.
- Conduct in-service inspection, assessment, and certification of pressure vessels (API 510) and storage tanks (API 653).
- Review fabrication, erection, and maintenance procedures for compliance with engineering drawings and standards.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and recommendations for corrective actions.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with project engineers, QA/QC teams, and contractors to ensure timely and effective resolution of inspection issues.
Leadership & Development
- Mentor and guide junior inspectors to enhance inspection quality and compliance awareness.
Compliance & Standards
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices relevant to oil and gas mechanical inspections.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.S. degree in Engineering in a respective inspection discipline with at least 10 years of experience in relevant inspection discipline, OR 18 years industrial/technical College Diploma plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant inspection experience.
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of applicable international standards.
- Demonstrated full working knowledge of quality system standards and methods.
Skills & Certifications
- AWS SCWI or CSWIP 3.2 certifications are mandatory.
- API 510 and API 653 certifications are preferred.
