Role Purpose
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, reviewing, and supervising mechanical systems to ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and coordination with contractors and suppliers to deliver high-quality mechanical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Prepare and review mechanical engineering designs, calculations, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Installation & Commissioning
- Lead mechanical installation and commissioning activities on-site to ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks to monitor the progress and quality of mechanical works.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate mechanical systems within the overall project.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with contractors and suppliers.
Technical Guidance & Problem Resolution
- Identify and resolve mechanical engineering issues, providing technical guidance to contractors and project teams.
Procurement & Documentation
- Support procurement activities by reviewing material submittals and liaising with suppliers.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and progress updates.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's codes, standards, and regulations is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in mechanical design software and engineering tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with contractors and suppliers.
