Role Overview
Sr. Manager/Building Projects-Electrical & Mechanical at Etisalat E&. This role leads technical project management, MEP design, and delivery of data center developments across greenfield and brownfield environments.
Role Purpose
To deliver comprehensive MEP concepts, design, and technical project management for data center developments; prepare technical bid documents; evaluate and establish contracts; support MEP technical solutions for existing facilities; and monitor construction, commissioning, and project closeout while advancing sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead technical project management and delivery of multidiscipline technical projects in greenfield and brownfield environments.
- Oversee complete implementation process of medium, large and complex projects.
- Lead and handle high-profile projects involving multiple workstreams and complex, varied stakeholder engagement.
- Initiate, finalize and close contracts and technical documentation.
- Prepare technical project closeout documentation.
Design & Engineering
- Develop MEP concepts and HVAC engineering design.
- Provide technical expert advice in developing small, medium to large and mega-scale data centers from concept to commissioning and closeout.
- Design and manage modern data center MEP architecture.
- Provide know-how for selecting efficient and reliable infrastructure technology for data centers.
- Deliver public health engineering design and strategic planning.
- Develop sustainable solutions to reduce carbon footprint and increase overall indoor environment quality.
Technical Evaluation & Analysis
- Review and conduct feasibility analyses, technical qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision making.
- Perform data center assessments and technical evaluations in relation to industrial standards.
- Develop and produce technical bid documents.
- Conduct techno-commercial evaluation and recommendations to conclude bids.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Handle and coordinate consultants, contractors, third-party specialist vendors, suppliers, AHJ representatives and subject matter experts for all disciplines including MEP, C&A, PHE and data center fit-out.
- Provide SME technical support for national and multinational end-users' product compliance requirements for data center collocation.
- Manage contractors and suppliers relations.
- Provide technical support for internal FM teams to overcome operational challenges in telecommunication and data center facilities.
Monitoring & Financial Management
- Monitor and follow-up construction and site development, commissioning and closeout of projects.
- Verify, assess and approve running bills for projects, invoices and closeout settlement.
- Oversee budgeting and project cost control.
Reporting & Communication
- Report and organize multilevel interaction meetings at all levels to achieve targets and resolve progress blocks during design phase, pre-construction, active construction and post-construction phases.
- Formulate and convey effective reporting and resolutions for higher management.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years' experience in relevant field.
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree.
- MBA qualification.
- ATS Uptime certification.
- ASA Uptime certification.
- ASHRAE certification.
- BICSI certification.
