Role Overview
Senior Manager - Pricing Promotion at Majid Al Futtaim, MAF Retail, Head Office UAE.
Role Purpose
Develop and lead pricing strategy and processes for all MAFR operating countries, manage the pricing team, and establish processes and procedures for the function to drive profitability and maintain market leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Determine feasibility and optimal pricing for new products in close collaboration with the sourcing team.
- Guide MAF Retail UAE management with new pricing strategies and tactics to sustain pricing leadership in the UAE market.
- Define direct competitors for each store and communicate a clear schedule of the pricing survey.
Operations & Analysis
- Monitor and analyse section and department profitability for each pricing strategy across different zones or clusters.
- Monitor pricing to ensure objectives are achieved, analyse financial impact of price approaches in view of overall history, and take corrective measures.
Team & Process Management
- Manage the pricing team and develop processes and procedures for the function.
- Support and guide other MAF Retail countries on pricing processes and strategies.
- Manage promotion pricing and deliver recommendations on final leaflet prices and promotional tactics to all merchandise teams.
Stakeholder Management
- Support and act as mediator between consultant company McKinsey, MAF Holding, and Carrefour UAE Head Office on pricing-related topics and subjects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Marketing.
- 10+ years of experience in Retail and Pricing.
Skills & Competencies
- English: Full professional proficiency required.
- Arabic: Limited working proficiency preferred.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office.
