Sr. Full Stack Engineer - Digital Banking & API Platform

Role Overview

Senior Full Stack Engineer - Digital Banking & API Platform at GSSTech Group. This role supports Digital Products, API Banking, and Merchant Acquiring initiatives.

Role Purpose

Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance full-stack enterprise applications and APIs. Contribute to technical architecture decisions and implement modern DevOps practices within Agile product engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack enterprise applications using React.js and Node.js.
• Develop highly responsive, reusable, and testable frontend components using React.js and TypeScript.
• Design and develop scalable and highly available RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js.
• Build responsive and performant web applications adhering to enterprise engineering standards.
• Develop self-contained, reusable, and maintainable modules and components.

Architecture & Technical Design

• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Architect and automate application build and deployment processes.
• Contribute to application architecture and technical design discussions.
• Ability to benchmark technologies and recommend best engineering practices.

Performance & Optimization

• Monitor and optimize frontend and backend application performance.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform debugging and performance tuning.
• Experience monitoring and improving frontend performance.

Code Quality & Standards

• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, testing, and documentation standards.
• Strong focus on code quality, maintainability, and performance.

DevOps & Delivery

• Contribute to CI/CD implementation and engineering best practices.
• Architect and automate application build and deployment processes.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, QA teams, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release activities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Comfortable presenting technical solutions and ideas to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with React.js and TypeScript.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience developing scalable and high-performance enterprise web applications.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Preferred domain experience in Banking, Financial Services, Digital Banking, API Banking, Merchant Acquiring, or Retail.

Skills & Competencies

Frontend Technologies

• Strong proficiency in React Hooks, Component Lifecycle, Context API, and Redux.
• Strong proficiency in Responsive Web Application Development and Modern React Architecture Patterns.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and DOM Manipulation.
• Experience with Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, Material UI, CSS Pre-processors, and CSS-in-JS techniques.
• Strong understanding of frontend build pipelines and package managers such as npm and yarn.

Backend Technologies

• Expertise in developing RESTful APIs, Microservices architectures, and Enterprise backend services.
• Strong understanding of Non-blocking code, Asynchronous programming, and Multi-threading concepts.
• Experience implementing JWT Authentication, OAuth, Token-based authentication mechanisms, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Experience with GraphQL (Good to Have).
• Experience with API Gateway integrations such as 3Scale.

Databases & Caching

• Strong experience with NoSQL databases.
• Good understanding of MongoDB, Redis, Caching strategies, and Database architecture concepts.

DevOps & Cloud

• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and modern software delivery practices.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Distributed systems, and Containerization technologies.
• Familiarity with AWS services, Microsoft Azure, and Cloud-native application architectures.

Messaging & Integration

• Experience working with Kafka, Pushpin, Event-driven architectures, and Task and message queues.
• Experience integrating enterprise APIs and third-party services.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Experience with Unit Testing, Jest, Enzyme, and Jasmine or equivalent testing frameworks.
• Experience using ESLint, TSLint, and Prettier.
• Strong understanding of Security standards, Coding standards, Documentation best practices, Technical benchmarking, and Optimization techniques.
