SR FIELD ENGINEER

Role Overview

Senior Field Engineer at NMDC Group. This role involves offshore planning, coordinating and monitoring of various construction activities through to project completion. Jobs at this level carry responsibility for a number of offshore functions on smaller projects, or for a single function on larger projects, and may involve work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Role Purpose

Manage field execution of offshore construction projects by coordinating activities between departments, monitoring progress against schedules, ensuring compliance with HSE standards, and liaising with clients and sub-contractors to deliver projects on time and to technical specification.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Mobilization

• Review and execute mobilization plans.
• Study project mobilization plans and ensure that all allocated activities are implemented within agreed timeframes.
• Undertake forward planning to ensure coordination of construction activities, adherence to project timetable and availability of adequate manpower resources.
• Schedule monitoring and preparation of micro schedule for every activity and campaign.
• Analyse the technical scope and project procedures.

Material & Resource Management

• Ensure availability of construction aids, equipment, materials and consumables to enable effective commencement and continuation of construction activities.
• Material control and expediting.
• Compile and issue work packages.

Work Execution & Supervision

• Allocate daily activities to foremen and monitor the progress of work to ensure that work is completed on time and meets technical specifications.
• Execution of specialized activities.
• Trains and oversees junior engineers.
• Assist senior engineers, Project Manager, and Section Head.

Stakeholder & Client Liaison

• Coordinate activities between departments and other groups.
• Liaise with client counterparts and sub-contractors to identify and advise on issues.
• Prepare subsequent correspondence for review by senior colleagues.
• Client and sub-contract liaison.

Documentation & Reporting

• Compile project documentation.
• Ensures completion of all project field documentation.
• Prepare a comprehensive Daily progress report and Field engineer report.
• Ensure that all aspects of the offshore installation are monitored and reported.
• Monitor and report daily progress against schedule, highlighting any areas of concern and reasons for delays and propose mitigation action.
• Ensure that 'as built' mark-ups are sent to the Engineering department for further action, through the Project Management Teams.

Compliance & Coordination

• Compliance in accordance with Company policies and procedures, Policy of Integrity and Code of Conduct and HSE standards.
• Coordinates with Engineering Department.
• Ensure that areas of concern that may have an impact on the project's progress are discussed with concerned individuals.

Project Closure & Learning

• Upon project completion, participate in preparing the Site Certificate and compiling lessons learned.
• Prepare lessons learned and good practices to enhance operation efficiency and capture good practices for future implementation.
• Participate in fulfilling department Objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• 5 years' experience in offshore construction.
• Thorough understanding of offshore operations.

Skills & Competencies

• Good English communication skills.
• Report writing skills.
• Good communication skills and a committed team player.
• Knowledge of personnel and equipment.
