Role Overview
Senior Dredge Master for Cutter Suction Dredger with NMDC Group. This role leads all dredging operations aboard the Cutter Suction Dredger, accountable for safe, efficient, and productive project execution.
Role Purpose
Lead and manage all dredging operations onboard the Cutter Suction Dredger, ensuring safe, efficient, and productive execution of the project while maintaining quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production
- Plan, coordinate, and optimize dredging activities to achieve production targets while maintaining quality and operational efficiency.
- Monitor cutter performance, dredge pumps, swing systems, spud operations, and discharge pipelines to maximize production.
- Analyze dredging data, production reports, and survey information to optimize dredging performance and minimize downtime.
- Supervise mobilization, demobilization, pipeline installation, anchor handling, and relocation of dredging equipment.
Crew Management & Development
- Supervise dredging crews, shift operations, and support personnel, ensuring compliance with company procedures and project requirements.
- Mentor and develop Dredge Masters, Shift Supervisors, and operational personnel to enhance technical competency and leadership capability.
Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Conduct daily operational meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to promote a strong safety culture onboard.
- Ensure all dredging operations are carried out in accordance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and emergency response procedures.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Vessel Master, Chief Engineer, Survey Team, and Client representatives to ensure smooth project execution.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, port authorities, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and successful project delivery.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and review daily production reports, operational logs, equipment performance reports, and project documentation.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Monitor equipment condition and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with the Engineering Department.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and ensure the safe and timely completion of dredging projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma, Degree, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Basic and advanced STCW training certification.
- 5–10 years of rank experience on Heavy Duty Cutter Suction Dredger.
