Role Overview
Senior Draftsman at NMDC Group. This role produces and manages detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation to support offshore projects.
Role Purpose
To prepare, review, and coordinate high-quality engineering drawings and fabrication documentation while providing technical leadership to drafting teams and ensuring compliance with project standards and HSE requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Drawing Production
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, General Arrangement Drawings and fabrication drawings from approved engineering information.
- Produce 3D models and visualization outputs where required to support project and client requirements.
- Prepare accurate material take-offs and component information for assigned projects and work packages.
Quality Assurance & Review
- Review and check drawings prepared by Draftsmen to verify accuracy, completeness and compliance before formal issue.
- Ensure all assigned drafting deliverables comply with approved standards, document control requirements, project schedules and HSE requirements.
Engineering Coordination
- Interpret engineering specifications and coordinate with engineers to resolve drawing discrepancies and technical queries.
- Incorporate approved engineering changes and ensure revisions are accurately reflected in drawings and associated documents.
- Coordinate drafting requirements with other disciplines to ensure consistency and integration of project deliverables.
Site & Technical Support
- Conduct pre-engineering site surveys, where required, to verify existing conditions and drawing information.
- Provide technical guidance to Draftsmen and support the resolution of complex drafting issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical Diploma or Certificate in Engineering Drafting, CAD, Design or equivalent professional qualification.
- Relevant CAD/3D modelling certification.
- Minimum 8 years' relevant experience in drafting related to Offshore.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and checking engineering drawings.
