Sr. Cost Control Engineer

Role Purpose

The Senior Cost Control Engineer ensures strong financial discipline, accurate cost visibility, and early risk identification across all project phases. The role coordinates closely with planning, procurement, contracts, commercial, finance, and site teams to support informed decision-making and maintain alignment between schedule and cost performance.

Key Responsibilities

Budgeting and Cost Structure

• Develop detailed project budgets and cost breakdown structures (CBS).
• Ensure procurement commitments align with project budgets.

Cost Monitoring and Forecasting

• Monitor expenditures, commitments, and cost-to-complete (CTC) forecasts.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, dashboards, and cash flow forecasts.
• Analyze cost trends and provide early warnings on potential overruns.

Cost Control and Compliance

• Identify cost variances early and ensure strong cost control compliance.
• Maintain accurate cost logs, coding, and ERP system updates.

Claims and Variations Management

• Evaluate variations, change requests, and subcontractor claims.
• Review subcontractor quotations, proposals, and payment applications.

Coordination and Data Validation

• Coordinate with planning to align cost forecasts with project schedules.
• Validate progress and cost-related data with site teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• 12–15 years of experience in construction cost control; UAE experience preferred.
• Experience in luxury villa and high-rise building projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost control methodologies, budgeting, and forecasting.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Excel, and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 is an advantage.
• Financial accuracy and analytical thinking.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Strong reporting and communication.
• Problem-solving and decision-making.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
