Role Overview
Sr. Associate Counsel at Visa, CEMEA region. A seasoned business and commercial attorney position supporting Visa's businesses in the EKQ and KBO sub-regions, reporting to the regional Legal leader.

The Visa CEMEA Legal team manages Visa's legal affairs in the CEMEA region, providing advice and services to ensure business goals are successfully met while protecting Visa's brand and reputation, minimizing legal liability and regulatory risks.
Role Purpose
To provide comprehensive legal support to Visa's CEMEA region, primarily EKQ and KBO sub-regions, enabling the organization to operate within applicable legal and regulatory parameters. The role focuses on commercial contracting, regulatory matters, product and services launches, and partnership support while maintaining robust legal risk management and protecting the company's interests.
Key Responsibilities
Contracting & Document Management
- Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial contracts and other legally binding documents.
- Develop templates and standard documents or adapt Visa U.S. and CEMEA Hub documents to local requirements.
- Provide support to the Digital Sales team on contract templates and contracting matters.
Regional Legal Support
- Act as regional contact for Marketing teams supporting implementation and launch of campaigns, promotions, sponsorship activities, and company and commercial agreements.
- Provide support to the Sourcing team in preparation and negotiation of contracts with suppliers and vendors.
- Manage Visa's internal approval processes for vendor and supplier agreements.
- Advise teams in Visa CEMEA, primarily in EKQ and KBO regions, on applicable legal requirements.
- Manage engagement with external counsel where appropriate.
Corporate & Compliance Matters
- Support Visa subsidiaries within the region with corporate filings and fulfilling compliance requirements.
- Advise on proposals for new entities or changes to existing entities.
Partnerships & Product Development
- Advise on arrangements with partners for product development initiatives.
- Draft and negotiate relevant partnership and collaboration agreements.
Communications & Internal Support
- Assist local staff with approval of internal and external communications and presentations.
Strategic Participation
- Actively participate in developing strategies, objectives, policies and procedures for the legal team.
- Assist in developing initiatives to improve legal service.
- Proactively move strategic thinking to operational concept and tactical deployment of service.
- Proactively work with global, regional and functional colleagues on deployment of projects and developments.
- Actively participate in developing policies and processes to meet business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Law degree and qualification (minimum requirement).
- Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience (PQE) with an international law firm or multinational organization.
- Experience in banking, information technology and payment industry (advantageous but not essential).
- Experience working in a U.S. multinational and highly matrix organization (preferred).

Additional Information
- Visa requires at least 4 days in office; expectations of these days will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager.
- Some travel may be required.
