Role Purpose

The Specialist Rotating Equipment Engineer is responsible for leading the engineering, design, selection, procurement, and technical management of rotating equipment for ADNOC Offshore projects. The role ensures that all rotating equipment complies with ADNOC standards, international codes, project requirements, and reliability objectives throughout the project lifecycle from FEED to commissioning and start-up.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Engineering

• Lead design and engineering activities related to rotating equipment for offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Manage the design and selection of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, pumps, blowers and fans, diesel engines, generators, and package equipment.
• Oversee preparation, review, and approval of equipment datasheets, technical specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor drawings and documents.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes such as API, ISO, ASME, and IEC.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Design Reviews, and Constructability Reviews.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management

• Coordinate closely with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural, and Procurement teams.
• Review vendor proposals and conduct technical clarification meetings.
• Manage vendor package management and technical bid evaluation.

Project Execution and Support

• Support procurement, inspection, testing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Resolve technical issues, engineering deviations, and site queries during project execution.
• Monitor engineering schedules and ensure timely delivery of rotating equipment packages.

Leadership and Development

• Mentor and guide rotating equipment engineers and project team members.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• Professional Engineering certification is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 15–18 years of experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Refinery, or Offshore EPC projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer role.
• Proven experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield projects.
• Extensive experience working on ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Gas, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or other major Middle East energy projects.
• Experience with offshore platforms, gas compression stations, processing facilities, and offshore production complexes is highly preferred.
• Recent ADNOC Offshore project experience is preferred.
• Experience on large offshore EPC projects exceeding USD 100 million is preferred.
• Proven track record in gas compression, power generation, water injection, and hydrocarbon processing facilities is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in rotating equipment design, selection, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of API 610 (Centrifugal Pumps), API 617 (Compressors), API 618 (Reciprocating Compressors), API 612 (Steam Turbines), API 616 (Gas Turbines), API 614 (Lubrication Systems), and API 670 (Machinery Protection Systems).
• Equipment performance analysis and reliability engineering.
• Vibration analysis and condition monitoring.
• Mechanical seals, bearings, lubrication systems, and auxiliary packages.
• Familiarity with ADNOC Engineering Standards and Specifications.
• Commissioning and start-up support for rotating equipment.
• Hands-on involvement in commissioning, performance testing, and troubleshooting of critical rotating equipment is preferred.
