Specialist Reproductive Endocrinology / Infertility (IVF)

Role Overview

Specialist Reproductive Endocrinology / Infertility (IVF) at SEHA Hospitals, based in the Al Ain area.

Role Purpose

To diagnose and treat patients in reproductive endocrinology and infertility under the supervision of the Consultant Physician, delivering clinical care in line with established standards of best practice while supporting departmental operations and contributing to divisional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Patient Management

• Diagnose and treat patients according to established standards of best practice for the specialty.
• Lead ward rounds and reassess both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice.
• Accept clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, specialty clinics, walk-in patients, and patients referred from other hospitals.
• Ensure preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent.
• Regularly review results of all investigations and modify treatment as required.
• Accurately document all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures.
• Communicate clinical information to patients and the patient's family and friends (with consent of the patient) in a timely manner.
• Comply with all hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow-up practices.

Supervision & Collaboration

• Assist the Consultant Physician in supervising the activities of junior medical staff and jointly assume responsibility for the care they provide.
• Liaise with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required.
• Actively participate in multi-disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe and holistic care for individual patients.
• Maintain a good working relationship with members of staff and promote collaboration and a team-based approach to patient care.

On-Call Coverage

• Participate in and support the Consultant Physician in ensuring the provision of out of hours (on-call) coverage on a rotational basis including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays as required.

Administrative & Managerial

• Support and adhere to all hospital departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures.
• Support and participate in the organization's performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes.
• Assist Consultant staff in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times.
• Attend Divisional meetings as invited.
• Support the reporting, investigation, and response to untoward incidents.
• Practice appropriate utilization of the organization's resources.
• Assume other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Consultant Staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Reproductive Medicine.
• Fellowship or additional certification in Reproductive Medicine.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience in Reproductive Medicine.
• Qualifications from SEHA Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3.

Additional Information

• Valid DOH (Department of Health - Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility required.
• Fluency in Arabic language is preferred.
• Willingness to work in Al Ain area required.
