Specialist Quality Assurance (Inspection)

Role Overview

Specialist Quality Assurance (Inspection) with Wood PLC, based in Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Lead quality assurance and inspection activities across projects to ensure compliance with contract requirements, international standards, and organizational procedures while managing a team of Quality Assurance Engineers and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead a team of Quality Assurance Engineers to ensure correct implementation of project guidelines, contracts, and other related procedures.
• Coordinate and perform quality audits for the implementation of work process and contract procedures.

Quality Assurance Program Development & Execution

• Develop, implement, and assure Quality Assurance Program planning and execution, including development of procedures and guidelines.
• Monitor Quality Assurance and Compliance and Project Design Delivery requirements in relation to active projects.

Problem Resolution & Continuous Improvement

• Resolve engineering and design complaints.
• Provide recommendations to improve processes and procedures through Root Cause Analysis for issued CARs.

Design & Project Validation

• Facilitate validation requirements for design readiness reviews prior to critical project milestones, including design package review submissions and Value Improvement Workshops.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Quality Management or related discipline.

Professional Experience

• 10 years relevant experience, preferably in oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries.
• Commercial and quality assurance/control experience on large to mega projects.

Essential Certifications

• Discipline inspection qualification where required (e.g., PCN, CSWIP, NACE, etc.).

Desirable Certifications

• Membership of CQI/ASQ or equivalent country-specific body.
• Quality auditor qualification by a recognized industry body.
• Radiographic interpretation certificate (piping welding inspectors only).

Skills & Competencies

• Comprehensive understanding and application of ISO 9001.
• Proficient in the analysis of processes and data.
• Thorough knowledge of commercial and quality assurance/control methods, practices, international codes and standards, and procedures.
