Role Overview

Specialist Physician-Anesthesia at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC). The role provides primary care for patients suffering from injuries and common illnesses, with specialization in anesthesiology and related medical disciplines.

Role Purpose

To deliver compassionate, evidence-based clinical care to patients across injury and acute illness presentations, maintaining current knowledge of medical advancements and collaborating effectively within the broader healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Diagnosis

• Examine patients and take comprehensive medical histories
• Address patient concerns and answer clinical questions
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and disorders
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and explain results to patients

Treatment & Management

• Recommend and design individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe medications or therapies
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and lifestyle changes
• Explain medical procedures to patients

Documentation & Coordination

• Update patient charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments
• Consult with other physicians and refer patients to specialists when necessary
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare staff, including nurses, assistants, and physicians
• Comply with medical laws, including HIPAA

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree and successful completion of a residency and internship
• State license and certification to practice medicine
• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses
