Role Overview

Specialist Physician-Anesthesia position at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC). The role provides primary care for patients suffering from injuries and common illnesses, with specialization in anesthesiology.

Role Purpose

To deliver compassionate clinical care across anesthesiology and related specializations, managing patient diagnoses, treatment planning, and coordination with the broader healthcare team while maintaining compliance with medical standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Diagnosis

• Examine patients and take comprehensive medical histories.
• Address patient concerns and answer patient questions.
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and explain results to patients.

Treatment Planning & Care Delivery

• Recommend and design treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications or therapies.
• Explain medical procedures to patients.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and lifestyle changes.

Clinical Documentation & Compliance

• Update patient charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.
• Comply with medical laws, including HIPAA.

Collaboration & Consultation

• Consult with other physicians.
• Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
• Work with other healthcare staff, including nurses, assistants, and other physicians.

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree and successful completion of residency and internship.
• State license and certification to practice medicine.
• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
• Ability and willingness to stay up to date on advancements, innovations, and developments in the field.
