Role Overview
Specialist - MRO, General Civil Aviation Authority.
Role Purpose
Manage certification, approval, audit and continued oversight of maintenance, repair and overhaul operations in compliance with technical authority standards, regulatory guidelines and international aviation safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Certification & Approval
- Ensure all certification and approval processes are managed effectively in line with stipulated guidelines.
- Issue relevant certificates and approvals, or recommend certification and approval, as per the Technical Authority Manual.
Audit & Oversight Program
- Provide inputs in development of the annual oversight audit and surveillance program to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Consider continued improvement towards safety in all oversight planning.
- Ensure timely and up to date data in Q-Pulse auditing system to ensure compliance with GCAA's roles and functions.
Investigations & Coordination
- Ensure that investigations such as ROSI are carried out to determine the cause of incidents and prevent future occurrences.
- Direct coordination with other disciplines if necessary to support investigation outcomes.
Surveillance & Corrective Action
- Implement corrective actions raised against the Department during internal surveillance program.
- Ascertain alignment of Safety Affairs standards in line with international standards and continuous improvement.
- Support the administration of all auditing activities by external entities of Safety Affairs including ICAO and IMS.
- Ensure smooth and productive audit processes with external oversight bodies.
