Role Overview

Specialist, Fire & Safety (Emiratised Role) in Dubai for First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB).

Role Purpose

Ensure all FAB branches and buildings receive timely inspections by Civil Defence and other applicable regulatory and legal authorities, and obtain and maintain current fire safety and security approvals for all FAB premises.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Inspections

• Ensure all FAB branches and buildings are inspected on time by Civil Defence or any other applicable regulatory or legal authority.
• Liaise with Civil Defence and other applicable regulatory bodies to stay up-to-date on safety and security regulations and ensure timely compliance.
• Arrange approvals and clearances from Civil Defence, Police, and other authorities during fit-out projects in coordination with the premises team.
• Arrange Civil Defence, Police, and other required approvals for any work necessary for the functioning of the bank.

Certificates & Renewals

• Ensure all FAB premises Civil Defence safety certificates are renewed and updated on or before expiry dates.
• Ensure all FAB branches security system inspections and approvals from relevant police authorities are in place on or before Civil Defence expiry dates.
• Maintain an updated Management Information System (MIS) on Civil Defence certificates and Civil Defence monitoring systems certificates.
• Ensure availability of Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), Civil Defence certificates, and Civil Defence monitoring systems certificates for all new and existing locations.

Fire Equipment & Maintenance

• Manage contracts for Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting equipment.
• Ensure suppliers conduct regular maintenance checks on Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting equipment.
• Ensure all FAB locations are equipped with updated Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting equipment.
• Ensure timely maintenance of Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting equipment is carried out by the appointed vendor.

Financial & Administrative Management

• Ensure all payments related to Civil Defence and Police are processed on time to schedule inspections.
• Reconcile payments made to Civil Defence and Police with the accounts team regularly to avoid discrepancies.
• Ensure all Civil Defence-related payments are processed through the FAB Administration Department Corporate Credit Card.

Decision-Making & Stakeholder Management

• Authorise decisions on renewals of Civil Defence and Police-related fire safety matters in consultation with the premises team and relevant stakeholders across the bank.
• Support the premises team as required in arranging approvals and clearances from Civil Defence and Police.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and raise potential savings related to the fire and safety sub-unit.
• Develop and propose new ideas for implementation in the fire and safety area.
• Support automation processes wherever possible.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience handling works with local authorities, particularly Civil Defence and Police.
• Knowledge of local security and safety regulations is required.

Skills & Competencies

• Workable knowledge of Arabic and English language.
