Qualifications & Experience

Education

• MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school

Post-Graduate Training

• Completion of a structured clinical residency or fellowship program in the relevant specialization

Clinical Experience

• Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience post-specialization, depending on DOH tier classification qualifications and specific hospital requirements

Licensing

• Valid Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi license or an eligibility letter to practice in Abu Dhabi (highly preferred)
• Current, valid license from the country of last or current practice
• Current Certificate of Good Standing from the relevant licensing authority
• Successful completion of the DOH licensing exam (may involve an oral assessment depending on the specialty)

Skills & Competencies

• Demonstrate fluency in English and Arabic
• Demonstrate competence in other languages as a distinct asset
• Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Commit to continuous medical education (CME/CPD)

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Practice

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Formulate personalized treatment plans for injuries, illnesses, and disorders within the specialty
• Prescribe and administer appropriate medication, therapy, or other specialized medical care
• Perform necessary procedures and surgeries related to the specialty

Collaboration & Communication

• Liaise and consult with other medical specialists, departments, and support services to ensure holistic and integrated patient care
• Communicate clinical information to patients and their families in a timely and compassionate manner
• Obtain informed consent for procedures as required

Documentation & Compliance

• Document all relevant clinical information accurately, clearly, and timeously in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Adhere to all hospital departmental and divisional policies, procedures, and DOH regulations, including occupational health and safety guidelines and infection control protocols

Quality, Teaching & Development

• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities to enhance patient safety and care standards
• Provide instruction, guidance, and supervision to junior medical staff, residents, and students
