Role Overview

Software Engineer (For UAE Nationals) at Emirates Islamic Bank, based in the UAE.

Role Purpose

Develop high-quality applications and design scalable, testable code that meets enterprise standards for performance, security, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

Development

• Develop quality software and web applications.
• Write efficient, scalable, and well-designed code using core Java and enterprise frameworks.
• Design highly scalable, testable code.

Architecture & Integration

• Design and build secure RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Work with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases or caching layers (Redis).
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy them via Kubernetes or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Maintenance & Quality Assurance

• Analyze and maintain existing software applications.
• Discover and fix programming bugs.
• Perform unit and integration testing, troubleshoot issues, and execute code reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• 0–2 years' development experience with programming languages.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
• SQL database or relational database skills.
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, or Hibernate.

Skills & Competencies

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and testing tools (JUnit, Mockito).
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Clear communication.
• Teamwork in an Agile/Scrum environment.
