Role Purpose

You will work as part of a cross-functional team to develop new features, improve code quality, and optimize application performance in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will contribute to technical strategy, solve customer problems, and drive continuous improvement across the codebase and the team.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Code Quality

• Work as part of a cross-functional team to help lead the development of new features.
• Demonstrate expertise in code review, debugging, and refactoring to continuously improve the codebase.
• Write DRY code while applying various best practices.
• Take on technical leadership of project work.

Performance & Optimization

• Contribute to application improvement and optimization through code audits, refactoring, caching, and architecture changes.
• Show passion for building and optimizing performance.

Requirements & Planning

• Help define requirements for new features and assist with Sprint planning.
• Work closely with business stakeholders in shaping, estimating, and planning new requirements.
• Participate in regular showcases of new work to product owners and business stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

• Strive for continuous improvement within the team.
• Work closely with the product team.

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Expert knowledge of PHP or Node.js with hands-on experience in microservices.
• PHP proficiency in large, scalable web applications.
• Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
• Understanding of version control systems such as Git.
• Experience with Agile development and JIRA.
• Basic understanding of Unix commands and environments.
