Role Purpose

To develop and optimize backend features as part of a cross-functional team, contributing to a scalable product platform while maintaining code quality, performance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Code Quality

• Work as part of a cross-functional team to help lead the development of new features.
• Write DRY code while using various best practices.
• Demonstrate code review, debugging and refactoring skills, taking advantage of every opportunity to make the codebase better.

Application Optimization

• Contribute to application improvement and optimization through code audits, refactoring, caching and architecture changes.
• Strive to build and optimize performance.
• Strive for continuous improvement within the team.

Stakeholder & Product Collaboration

• Help define requirements for new features and assist with sprint planning.
• Work with business stakeholders in shaping, estimating and planning new requirements.
• Participate in regular showcases of new work to the product owners and business stakeholders.
• Work closely with the product team.

Technical Leadership

• Be happy to take technical leadership on project work.

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Expert proficiency in PHP or Node.js.
• PHP proficiency in large, scalable web applications.
• Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
• Understanding of version control systems such as GIT.
• Experience with Agile development and JIRA.
• Basic understanding of Unix commands and environments.
