Role Overview

Site Mechanical Engineer (Shutdown / Turnaround) with ABIS, specializing in Oil & Gas shutdown and turnaround projects.

Role Purpose

Oversee mechanical operations during scheduled shutdowns and turnaround activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while coordinating with multiple teams and providing technical support for critical maintenance execution.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Execution

• Plan, supervise, and execute mechanical engineering tasks during shutdown and turnaround projects.
• Assist in resource planning and allocation to meet project timelines.

Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth workflow.
• Communicate with project stakeholders regularly.

Inspection & Quality Assurance

• Conduct inspections and quality checks on mechanical equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support to resolve mechanical issues on site.
• Monitor mechanical system performance.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare progress reports and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering roles within shutdown and turnaround projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance, and repair methodologies.
