Role Overview
Site Inspector - Mechanical position at Khatib & Alami, based on Abu Dhabi Projects.
Role Purpose
Oversee mechanical systems and equipment installation on site, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Site Inspection & Quality Assurance
- Inspect mechanical equipment and systems during installation to verify conformance with contract specifications and drawings.
- Monitor quality of workmanship and materials used in mechanical installations.
- Conduct daily site inspections and document findings in inspection reports.
- Identify deficiencies and non-conformances and report them to the Project Manager.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all mechanical work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor adherence to safety protocols on the construction site.
- Report safety violations and hazards immediately.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure smooth execution of work.
- Communicate inspection findings and progress to project management.
- Maintain clear documentation of all site activities and inspections.
Testing & Commissioning
- Witness and document mechanical system testing and commissioning activities.
- Verify proper operation of mechanical equipment before handover.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in site inspection or mechanical supervision on construction projects.
- Experience with similar projects in the Middle East is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, and equipment installation practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Problem-solving capability and sound judgment.
Additional Information
- This position requires regular presence on site in Abu Dhabi.
