Role Overview

Singhalese Linguist CAT II supporting CENTCOM operations with Amentum. The position is based in Kuwait, supporting U.S. military operations as a Subject Matter Expert.

Role Purpose

Provide operational contract linguist support to U.S. military operations in Kuwait, delivering interpretation, transcription, analysis, and translation services in Singhalese while offering cultural and regional expertise to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Interpretation

• Provide operational contract linguist support for military operations.
• Interpret during interviews, meetings, and conferences.
• Support 24 x 7 operations and be willing to work shifts and extended hours.

Analysis & Research

• Transcribe and analyze verbal communications.
• Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents for key information.

Language Services

• Supply a variety of translation and interpretation services for Singhalese.
• Contribute assorted language services to support mission objectives.

Strategic Support

• Provide cultural perspective and understanding of the region's historical, political, sociological, and economic trends to select members of senior leadership staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• U.S. citizen.
• Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 3 in Singhalese (target language).
• Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 2+ in English based on oral and written language skills examination.
• Active Secret clearance for access to classified information.
• Current U.S. passport (or commitment to apply upon acceptance into the program).

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent command of Singhalese verbal skills.
• Excellent command of English verbal and written skills.
• Familiarity with and ability to conduct oneself in accordance with local culture and customs.

Additional Information

• Position requires willingness to work in Kuwait and ability to meet all requirements to obtain residency.
• Candidate must undergo medical examination and meet all MOD15 requirements put into place by the military.
• Overseas location: Kuwait.
