Role Purpose

To diagnose, repair, maintain, and restore vehicles to proper operating condition, ensuring high-quality workmanship, vehicle reliability, safety, and compliance with workshop procedures and manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics & Repair

• Diagnose, repair, and replace engine management and fuel injection system components.
• Identify and repair radiator leaks and related cooling system issues.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and identify defective components.
• Repair, reline, and adjust vehicle braking systems.
• Perform front-end and wheel alignment-related repairs and adjustments.
• Inspect and repair or replace shock absorbers and other suspension components.

Component Removal & Disassembly

• Remove and dismantle mechanical assemblies such as engines, transmissions, clutches, gearboxes, differentials, and suspension systems.

Repair & Reassembly

• Repair or replace worn, damaged, or faulty vehicle components according to the assigned job card.
• Reassemble, test, clean, and adjust repaired or replaced components and assemblies.

Inspection & Testing

• Inspect mechanical components using appropriate mechanic hand tools and technical manuals as required.
• Use appropriate diagnostic and testing instruments to ensure repaired or replaced components are functioning correctly.

Safety & Access

• Safely raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks, vehicle lifts, or hoists to access mechanical components underneath the vehicle.

Compliance & Standards

• Follow manufacturer repair procedures, technical manuals, and workshop standards.
• Ensure all repairs are completed accurately and according to the job card requirements.
• Follow all company QHSE and health & safety procedures.

Workplace Management

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman, Supervisor, Workshop Manager, or Service Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Service Technician, Automotive Technician, or in a similar position.
• High Diploma in Mechanics or a relevant automotive or mechanical qualification.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with engine and transmission repairs.
• Knowledge of clutch, gearbox, and differential systems.
• Experience with suspension and braking systems.
• Knowledge of engine management and fuel injection systems.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and identify defective components.
• Experience dismantling, repairing, reassembling, and testing vehicle components.
• Ability to use mechanic hand tools, vehicle lifts, testing equipment, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of vehicle cooling systems and radiator repairs.
• Strong understanding of workshop safety procedures and safe working practices.
