Role Purpose

Perform vehicle servicing, maintenance, repair, and diagnostics to established company standards while maintaining workshop safety, quality, and efficiency. Support the workshop team in delivering high-quality automotive service and achieving customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Service & Maintenance

• Carry out minor periodic service and maintenance in accordance with MG Guidelines and IEM SOP.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, and faulty vehicle parts according to the assigned job order.
• Perform Vehicle Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) in accordance with established standards.

Diagnostics & Technical Support

• Use approved VDS scanning and diagnostic tools to read and erase vehicle fault codes.
• Assist Repair and Diagnostic Technicians with repair and diagnostic activities as required.

Professional Development

• Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills through formal training and technical learning programs.
• Stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technologies, repair methods, and diagnostic techniques.

Tools & Inventory Management

• Maintain an inventory of standard technician tools and ensure tools are properly maintained and available for use.
• Maintain company assets and ensure all tools and equipment are used responsibly.

Documentation & Communication

• Provide clear and accurate write-ups of tasks performed and highlight any relevant observations or concerns.
• Clock in and out of assigned job orders in accordance with standard procedures.
• Coordinate with the Workshop Controller regarding vehicle status and progress.
• Coordinate with the Parts Advisor to obtain the correct parts required for assigned repairs.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Immediately inform the supervisor of any safety-related issues identified during vehicle inspection or repair.
• Comply with all health and safety procedures, regulations, and company requirements.

Workspace & Standards

• Keep the workshop and assigned work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow instructions from the supervisor in accordance with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appropriate appearance at all times.

General Duties

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar automotive Service Technician capacity.
• High Diploma in Mechanics or an equivalent automotive technical qualification.
• Brand Advanced Technician Qualification Certification is required.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Good knowledge of vehicle servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to perform minor periodic services and vehicle repairs.
• Knowledge of vehicle PDI procedures.
• Experience using vehicle diagnostic and scanning tools, particularly VDS.
• Ability to identify, repair, and replace worn or faulty vehicle components.
• Good understanding of automotive workshop procedures and SOPs.
• Willingness to continuously learn and develop technical skills.
• Good knowledge of standard automotive technician tools and workshop equipment.

Computer & Administrative Skills

• Computer literate with the ability to use relevant workshop systems and standard computer applications.
• Telephone and computer skills are preferred.

Language Skills

• English is preferred.
• Arabic language skills are an advantage.
