Senior Wayfinding Designer

Role Overview

Senior Wayfinding Designer at WSP Middle East. You will provide design leadership and project management expertise on a diverse range of wayfinding projects across the region, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative wayfinding solutions that meet client objectives and exceed industry standards.

Role Purpose

Lead the conceptualization, design development, and implementation of wayfinding projects from inception to completion. Elevate user experiences and navigation within built environments through integrated design solutions that align with client objectives and project goals.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the conceptualization, design development, and implementation of wayfinding projects from inception to completion.
• Develop creative direction and execution of wayfinding, signage, and placemaking projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
• Demonstrate expertise in emerging technologies and best practices in wayfinding design, and incorporate relevant advancements into project deliverables.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Create compelling narratives and presentations to effectively communicate strategy and design proposals to clients and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate and work closely with wider teams of architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders to propose integrated wayfinding design solutions that meet clients' requirements.

Design Execution

• Demonstrate expertise in design software, including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, AI Tools, 3DS Max, and SketchUp to create conceptual designs, sketches, and illustrations.
• Develop strong understanding of materials, fabrication techniques, and detailed design drawings and specifications.

Project & Team Management

• Manage project schedules, resources, and workflow to ensure timely delivery of high-quality design deliverables.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, and collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in wayfinding design, signage, and environmental graphics across diverse project types, including masterplans, luxury hospitality, residential, mixed-use, retail, commercial, entertainment, healthcare, and education.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex wayfinding projects from concept through completion, supported by a strong design portfolio and proven track record.
• Comprehensive knowledge of local regulations, codes, and standards governing wayfinding and architectural projects within the Middle East.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, AI tools, 3DS Max, and SketchUp.
• Exceptional creative and conceptual skills, leveraging expertise in urban planning and interior design to craft and present holistic wayfinding strategies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail.

• Willingness to travel internationally to support project requirements and client interactions.
