Senior Utility Engineer at Egis Group, port and terminal facility in Kuwait.

Role Purpose
Oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of all utility systems supporting port operations. Lead a team of technicians while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and delivering operational excellence in a detail-oriented, complex utility systems environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage and oversee all utility systems including electrical, water, HVAC, compressed air, and fuel distribution networks.
- Monitor energy consumption and implement efficiency improvement measures.
- Respond to emergency situations and coordinate rapid resolution of critical utility failures.
Maintenance & Technical Support
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
- Conduct technical troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve utility system failures.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance activities, system performance, and equipment specifications.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor a team of utility technicians, providing guidance on maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for utility department staff.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational procedures.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Prepare and manage utility system budgets, including capital expenditure planning and cost optimization initiatives.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment repairs, upgrades, and installations.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with port operations and engineering teams to support facility expansion and infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in utility systems management, preferably in a port, terminal, or industrial facility environment.
- Proven expertise in electrical systems, water treatment, HVAC, and compressed air systems.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated experience with PLC/SCADA systems and industrial control systems.
- Experience in budget management and cost control.
- Knowledge of port/terminal operations and infrastructure requirements.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards applicable to port facilities.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design and documentation software.
- Proven leadership and team supervision skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 certification (preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of energy efficiency optimization and renewable energy systems (preferred).
- Experience with vendor and contractor management (preferred).
