Senior Static & Piping Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Static & Piping Engineer with Wood PLC on a one-year client secondment role based in Muscat, Oman.

Role Purpose

Execute Static and Piping engineering activities on the NGLE Project under TL scope, applying mechanical engineering standards and design codes while delivering innovative solutions that balance cost, schedule, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering Delivery

• Apply Mechanical Engineering Static and Piping practices, standards, and design codes.
• Challenge project design assumptions and strive to bring more value to the project through value engineering.
• Provide innovative solutions to overcome project challenges including cost and schedule while maintaining compliance to design codes.
• Assist Mechanical engineers in delivering and reviewing engineering deliverables.
• Compile information from contractor reports; evaluate and analyze compiled information using Mechanical Engineering standards and codes.
• Execute activities and processes associated with Mechanical and Static and Piping engineering under TL scope.
• Support and execute general engineering activities directly linked to Mechanical engineering.

Engineering Reviews & Meetings

• Provide direction and actively participate in engineering reviews and meetings; lead when required.
• Coordinate, prepare, and make recordings of engineering reviews as assigned by the Lead Mechanical Engineering Static.
• Contribute to recording meetings and discussions.

Documentation & Procurement

• Follow up on the turnover of Mechanical engineering documents.
• Participate in equipment selection and procurement process.

Site & Commissioning Activities

• Attend workshops and site inspections of Mechanical facilities as the plan permits.
• Attend FAT and SAT of equipment as required.
• Inspect project site to monitor HSE, progress, and ensure conformance to design specifications and project standards.

Knowledge & Communication

• Prepare and deliver presentations on subjects as the project develops.
• Apply and expand hands-on experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Operation in Oil and Gas industry.

General

• Execute other relevant duties as requested from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience in similar projects.
• Mechanical Engineering Degree with relevant certification.
• Experience in refinery and petrochemical projects preferred.
