Role Purpose

The Senior Specialist, Warehouse Operations Excellence is responsible for analyzing and optimizing warehouse processes, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and implementing best practices in inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping and receiving. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between warehouse operations and other business functions, staying updated on industry trends, and leveraging new technologies to enhance operational performance and achieve cost reduction while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Operations

• Prepare and implement warehouse operations strategies and procedures that align with the company's goals and objectives.
• Deliver best practices in inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping and receiving processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends and developments, and execute new technologies and processes as appropriate.

Performance Management

• Examine warehouse performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and execute action plans to address issues.
• Contribute to the achievement of approved Performance Objectives for the Function, Division, Department, and Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Safety, Compliance & Facilities

• Review compliance with regulatory and safety requirements and advise on corrective actions as needed.
• Advise on the maintenance and compliance of warehouse facilities and equipment with safety regulations.
• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices, and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Training & Staff Development

• Develop and produce training programs for warehouse supervisors and staff to ensure adherence to safety and operating procedures.
• Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver respective business objectives.
• Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.

Budget & Cost Management

• Develop and manage the warehouse operations budget, producing cost reduction strategies wherever possible.
• Provide input for preparation of Function, Division, Department, and Section budgets, assist in the implementation of approved budgets and work plans to deliver business objectives.

Vendor & Supplier Management

• Analyze relationships with key vendors and suppliers and negotiate contracts as needed.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and vendor organizations, ensuring compliance with service standards and negotiating contracts as needed.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Lead collaboration with other departments, such as transportation and logistics, to facilitate seamless integration between warehouse operations and other business functions.
• Coordinate with the SVP Group Commercial Operations & Execution and other Division heads in the function to ensure alignment of warehouse operations with overall business objectives.
• Regularly interact with staff within the Executive Function, Directorate, and other Directorates on divisional matters.
• Occasionally liaise with government officials to clarify regulations affecting warehouse operations and discuss matters of mutual interest.

Reporting

• Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 10 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.
• Relevant certifications in warehouse management, supply chain management, or logistics are preferred.
