Senior Solution Architect

Role Overview

Senior Solution Architect at Cognite, a leader in AI and data solutions for industrial digitalization. This is a customer-facing position within the Technology department of the Value Delivery organisation.

Role Purpose

As a Senior Solution Architect, you will work directly with key customers, field sales, delivery teams, and product development to help Norwegian and international industrial customers—large process and energy companies—increase productivity and profitability, reduce environmental impact, and reduce costs. You will define solutions and support integrations through to successful completion, leveraging your seniority and technical competencies to address challenges in asset performance and maintenance, production efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Solution Design

• Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design.
• Define enterprise and solution architecture, including integration and data models and data ingestion pipelines.
• Express complex technical solutions through architecture modeling tools.
• Independently manage integration, data modeling, and related activities using Cognite data connectors and extractors, SQL, Python/Java, Rest APIs, and cloud platform providers like Azure, AWS, and Google.

Strategic & Technical Leadership

• Provide strategic and technical expertise to support customers and customer-facing project teams.
• Develop and maintain technical and business expertise for Cognite's products.
• Train internal teams and partners in your area of specialization.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management teams to translate customer needs into product offerings.

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, C-level executives, and IT and Business Data Managers to drive long-term adoption of Cognite's products and services.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management teams to turn customer needs into a prioritised pipeline of product offerings.

Operations & Support

• Ensure operational responsibility and support agreements for delivered solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or Machine Learning Engineer.
• Technical background, willing and able to dive in and contribute code for advanced topics when needed.
• Experience from domains like Manufacturing, Energy, O&G, Pharma, or Life Sciences is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Hands-on expertise in Python and software development best practices.
• Proficiency with Cognite data connectors and extractors.
• SQL and Java skills.
• Rest APIs experience.
• Cloud platform experience with Azure, AWS, or Google.
• Highly organised and thorough.
• Strong communication with all stakeholders.
• Ability to take ownership and drive tasks independently.
• Capability to collaborate, lead, coach, and work independently.
