Role Overview
Senior Software Engineer at MinIO. The company is building the complete data stack for AI, including an exascale object store, table store, agent memory, and core infrastructure. This is a full-time position based at MinIO.

Role Purpose
You will own hard problems end-to-end that most engineering teams never get close to — the kind with no existing answers. You will work independently on the codebase alongside a team of people who care deeply about craftsmanship, with no ticket queues, standups, or permission structures.

Ownership & Problem Solving
- Own problems end-to-end with full autonomy from day one.
- Start and finish hard things with grit and determination.
- Debug by understanding the system, not by guessing.
Technical Work
- Write code that the next engineer respects.
- Read and understand source code deeply, including systems you do not own.
- Apply expertise in Operating Systems, Networking, Systems Programming, Distributed Systems, Storage Engines, Vector and Graph Retrieval, Low-Latency I/O, and Protocol Design.
Qualifications & Experience
- Deep OS internals knowledge.
- Networking expertise from the socket layer up.
- Demonstrated ability to debug problems no one else could reproduce.
- Experience reading source code independently and deeply.
Skills & Competencies
- Fluent in at least 2 programming languages, with honest understanding of their tradeoffs.
- Strong opinions on memory, concurrency, and correctness, with humility to revise them.
- Expert-level debugging through understanding rather than guessing.
- Deep knowledge of Operating Systems, Networking, Systems Programming, Distributed Systems, Storage Engines, Vector and Graph Retrieval, Low-Latency I/O, and Protocol Design.
- Low ego with extremely high standards.
- Genuine, uncontrollable curiosity.
- Ownership mindset and accountability.
