Role Overview
Senior Retirement Actuarial Associate at Mercer (part of Marsh McLennan), based in the UAE. This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office.

Role Purpose
Deliver actuarial consulting expertise on pension and retirement benefits to institutional clients. Work closely with pension fund sponsors and plan administrators to provide technical analysis, strategic recommendations, and practical solutions that address complex retirement challenges while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Actuarial Analysis & Valuations
- Lead and support actuarial consulting engagements related to pension and retirement benefits
- Provide actuarial analysis, valuation support, and strategic recommendations for pension funds and retirement plans
- Perform calculations and analysis for special retirement projects, including assumption studies, plan design studies, plan terminations, early retirement window studies, post-retirement medical, and acquisition studies
- Stay current on actuarial, pension, and retirement industry developments and regulatory changes
Client Management
- Work closely with clients to deliver high-quality advice and lead client meetings
- Partner with institutional pension clients to understand and address their retirement challenges
- Manage project timelines while ensuring accuracy, quality, and client satisfaction
- Support business development efforts and contribute to client relationship growth
Deliverables & Collaboration
- Contribute to the preparation and review of actuarial reports, presentations, and client deliverables
- Collaborate with internal teams across consulting, risk, and retirement disciplines
Qualifications & Experience
- Actuarial degree at bachelor's or master's level
- Professional actuarial qualification or progress toward qualification (SOA / IFoA)
- At least 7+ years of experience working as a pension actuary or with a pension fund
- Strong knowledge of pension and retirement practices
- Arabic speaking ability is required
- Experience advising institutional pension clients or retirement plan sponsors
- Familiarity with actuarial modelling, valuations, and pension assumptions
- Exposure to regional or international retirement consulting environments
