Senior Registered Nurse - Mudon Clinic

Role Overview

Senior Registered Nurse at King's College Hospital London, Mudon Clinic. The post holder works as a senior member of the nursing clinical team, supporting leadership in overseeing and directing nursing staff.

Role Purpose

To deliver evidence-based, holistic patient care while deputizing as nurse in charge, supervising the nursing team on shift, maintaining clinic standards and patient pathways, and acting as a clinical resource and role model across the Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Patient Assessment

• Demonstrate clinical expertise in the care of all patients receiving treatment in the Hospital.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs on an ongoing basis.
• Coordinate care delivered by all members of the clinical team.
• Accurately interpret clinical information about patients' conditions and take appropriate remedial action.
• Promptly report changes in patient condition.
• Ensure accurate records are maintained reflecting both changes in the patient's condition and the treatment provided.

Patient Communication & Education

• Keep patients and their relatives regularly updated with accurate information, communicated sensitively and in a way they understand.
• Provide clear and accurate written and verbal communication at all times, including patient handovers.
• Contribute to the health education of patients and their families, providing advice and support to encourage healthy lifestyles.

Operations & Coordination

• Organize patient transfers within and outside the Hospital, escorting ill patients as required.
• Ensure relevant information regarding patients' needs and conditions is communicated to the Multidisciplinary Team and that instructions are acted upon.
• Delegate work appropriately to maintain full nursing coverage.
• Supervise the team on shift to ensure compliance with clinic standards and patient pathways.

Leadership & Development

• Support the Line Manager and Charge Nurse/Sister in overseeing and directing the work of the nursing team.
• Deputize as nurse in charge in the absence of the Line Manager or Charge Nurse/Sister.
• Assist in the leadership and development of identified nurses within the department.
• Act as a clinical resource across the Hospital.
• Facilitate the application of theory to practice.
• Provide specialist knowledge within the area of practice.
• Support staff development as a positive role model.
• Ensure that all staff deliver services in a high-quality, courteous, and patient-focused manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Stakeholder Management

• Deal personally with patients, families, and carers to resolve complaints.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring action plans to achieve departmental standards.
• Provide patients and relatives with safe, high-quality care and information.

Qualifications & Experience

• UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA).
• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Minimum 5 years' experience working in a hospital or similar setting.

Skills & Competencies

• Clinical expertise in patient care and assessment.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to manage digital documentation and communication effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and stakeholders.
