Role Overview
Senior Red Hat OpenShift Administrator / Engineer at GSSTech Group. The role focuses on managing enterprise-scale Red Hat OpenShift clusters with expertise in automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, GitOps, cloud migration, and platform engineering.
Role Purpose
Install, configure, administer, and optimize large-scale Red Hat OpenShift clusters in enterprise environments. Manage platform reliability, security, automation, and integration while supporting development teams in deploying and migrating applications to cloud-native architectures.
Key Responsibilities
OpenShift Platform Administration
- Install, configure, administer, upgrade, and manage large-scale Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- Perform OpenShift platform administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, performance optimization, and capacity management.
- Support high-availability architectures and ensure platform reliability and resilience.
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Design and implement automation for OpenShift infrastructure and application deployments.
- Manage infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, and operational activities.
CI/CD & GitOps
- Implement and maintain GitOps-driven configuration management and deployment using tools such as Argo CD.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git-based workflows.
- Develop and maintain Helm charts for application packaging and deployment.
Cloud Migration & Workload Management
- Support migration of enterprise applications and workloads to cloud environments.
- Deliver enterprise workload migration and cloud-native application deployment support.
Integration & API Management
- Integrate OpenShift and enterprise platforms through REST/SOAP APIs.
- Develop API consumers/publishers and support integration with external systems.
Troubleshooting & Infrastructure Support
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving OpenShift, networking, DNS, SSL/TLS, certificates, load balancers, firewalls, Active Directory, and infrastructure components.
- Work closely with development, infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams to resolve complex platform issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years of overall experience in relevant technical positions, preferably within large enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting enterprise-scale OpenShift platforms.
- Proven experience with automation, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience working with complex enterprise infrastructure and security environments.
- Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator certification preferred/required.

Red Hat OpenShift & Kubernetes
- Strong hands-on expertise in Red Hat OpenShift Administration.
- Extensive experience with installation, configuration, upgrades, automation, troubleshooting, and management of enterprise OpenShift clusters.
- Experience with OpenShift Virtualization / KubeVirt.
- Strong understanding of OpenShift architecture and components.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes concepts and orchestration.
- Understanding of containerized application platforms.
- Knowledge of OpenShift networking.
- Knowledge of storage and persistent volumes.
- Understanding of cluster security.
- Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Expert-level experience with Terraform.
- Expert-level experience with Ansible.
- Expert-level experience with Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, orchestration, and automation practices.
CI/CD & GitOps
- Strong experience implementing GitOps-based deployment models.
- Hands-on experience with Argo CD / ArgoCD.
- Strong knowledge of Jenkins pipeline development.
- Ability to write and maintain Jenkinsfiles using Groovy.
- Experience with Helm and Helm chart development.
Scripting & Programming
- Excellent scripting capabilities using Bash.
- Excellent scripting capabilities using PowerShell.
- Excellent scripting capabilities using Python.
- Excellent scripting capabilities using Groovy.

Networking & Infrastructure
- Strong conceptual and practical understanding of DNS architecture and troubleshooting.

- Knowledge of DNS Forwarders.
- Understanding of load balancers.
- Understanding of site selectors.
