Senior Project Manager – Master Planning and Infrastructure

Role Overview

Senior Project Manager – Master Planning and Infrastructure at WSP in the Middle East. The role leads and oversees the design of complex Land Development projects in the UAE.

Role Purpose

Lead and manage large, complex Land Development projects through planning and design phases, directing multi-disciplinary teams and driving internationally significant projects from inception to completion while ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and project delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead and manage Land Development master planning and design projects across Master Planning, Transport Planning, Roads, Utilities, and Landscape disciplines.
• Ensure alignment with Client objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Drive multi-disciplinary Land Development teams to project completion.

Team Management

• Build and lead cross-functional project teams.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and motivation to team members.
• Achieve project goals through effective team performance.

Client Interaction

• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
• Understand client needs and expectations.
• Ensure project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
• Align deliverables with project budgets.

Cost and Resource Management

• Develop project budgets.
• Monitor and control expenditures.
• Allocate resources efficiently to optimize project outcomes.

Risk Management

• Identify potential project risks.
• Develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Scope and Schedule Management

• Develop a work breakdown structure for the project.
• Create schedules and monitor progress against schedule.
• Ensure scope and deliverables are well defined.
• Identify variance and scope creep.
• Document and manage change adequately.

Quality Management

• Manage and control quality on the project by implementing WSP processes and templates.
• Instil and maintain a quality culture across the project.

Procurement Management

• Apply commercial and legal acumen to manage procurement activities.
• Manage Main Agreement Execution and Change Control.
• Oversee supplier and subcontractor appointments.

Stakeholder and Communication Management

• Establish stakeholder and communication management plans.
• Ensure communication flows efficiently and accurately into and out of the project in accordance with business protocols.
• Evaluate stakeholder power and influence.
• Ensure relevant feedback is considered and requisite approvals are sought.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Land Development discipline (Civil Engineering, Utilities, Roads, Transport Planning, or Master Planning).
• Proven project management experience on the planning and design of large and complex Land Development projects in the UAE.
• Degree in Land Development discipline preferred (Civil Engineering, Utilities, Roads, Transport Planning, or Master Planning).
• UAE planning and design experience required.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical background in infrastructure and/or master planning.
• Technical understanding in Land Development disciplines (master planning, infrastructure, transport planning, landscaping, sustainability).
• Knowledge, skills, and expertise to lead multi-disciplinary Land Development teams.
• Project management expertise in planning and design-stage delivery.
