Role Overview
Senior Project Finance Manager at Mashreq, UAE. This role is open to UAE Nationals only.
Role Purpose
The Senior Project Finance Manager is responsible for managing governance and project financial reporting for bank-wide technology projects. The role works closely with the Tech department, Head of Tech, and Head of Transformation Office to ensure rigorous financial oversight, timely reporting, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Evaluation & Planning
- Review financial business cases of Tech projects with critical evaluation of Executive Summary and CapEx proposals.
- Ensure all elements are captured according to standard requirements.
- Drive Tech-related Budget Management for Tech and various business functions and departments.
- Actively drive and participate in the Annual CapEx Planning Exercise with Tech leads, Business Leads, and Transformation Office.
Financial Reporting & Monitoring
- Work with Transformation Office on Tech Project Financial reporting for bank-wide projects across all business and functions in close alignment with Transformation Office priorities.
- Provide timely financial reports and dashboards to stakeholders on project financials.
- Monitor budgets as approved and alert Management and Transformation Office promptly on cost overruns, excess underutilization, or non-utilization of budgets.
Systems & Documentation
- Create projects in Oracle system and assign approved budgets.
- Validate correct chargeability, usage of appropriate Item codes, and GL codes in Oracle and procurement.
- Ensure all relevant documentation and approvals are stored in the Central Project repository.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify and mitigate financial risks throughout projects.
- Ensure compliance with Internal policies and regulations at every stage of the project.
Coordination & Governance
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Transformation Office, and CAD for timely capitalization of projects and recording of Fixed Assets according to policy.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and CPD on project closure, including closing in system and close-out of unused LPOs.
- Assist Transformation Office in overall governance of projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in Finance or Accounting, or CA or MBA in Finance.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in banking industry.
- Experience managing multiple technology projects financials and reporting.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge and affinity with projects, program management, and technology projects and topics.
- Strong financial data analysis acumen.
- Proficiency in project and financial software and tools.
- High problem-solving skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
- Effective communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Team worker.
