Senior Platform Engineer (Infrastructure)

Role Overview

Senior Platform Engineer (Infrastructure) at Ziina. The role is based in the UAE.

Role Purpose

Shape the foundation that every Ziina engineer builds on by owning the infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability systems that keep the rapidly growing fintech platform fast, reliable, and easy to develop. Drive technical excellence to make scaling possible across multi-region and low-latency environments.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Architecture

• Build and own scalable, reliable infrastructure that supports high-performance applications across multiple regions
• Implement infrastructure as code and automation across all environments to ensure consistency and reduce manual toil
• Reduce operational overhead and improve platform stability as the organization scales

CI/CD & Release Management

• Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and release workflows so that shipping is fast, safe, and predictable

Observability & Reliability

• Improve system observability, monitoring, and incident response so problems are caught early and resolved quickly
• Maintain on-call responsibilities and improve incident response practices

Developer Experience

• Enable engineering teams through reliable, efficient platform systems and self-service tooling

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE, with a strong focus on infrastructure and developer experience
• Deep expertise with cloud services, ideally AWS
• Deep expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
• Hands-on proficiency with containerization and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Hands-on experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, or similar
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and a track record of improving incident response practices
• Based in or open to relocating to the UAE

Additional Information

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Proven experience building infrastructure for fintech or other high-reliability, high-throughput platforms
• Track record of tackling real scaling problems such as reducing latency, improving resilience, or operating multi-region systems
• History of building platform and developer experience tooling that measurably boosted engineering velocity
• Successful leadership in major infrastructure evolution, including architectural transitions, migrations, or multi-region rollouts
• Active engagement in the tech community through open source contributions, conference speaking, or technical writing
