Senior Planning Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Planning Engineer at MIRA Construction, based in the UAE. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and project controls on luxury construction projects, managing timelines from commencement through completion.

Role Purpose

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitor progress against approved plans, identify risks and delays, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely execution of key milestones and project objectives on high-end construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule Development & Management

• Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules from project commencement through completion.
• Prepare baseline programmes, recovery programmes, look-ahead schedules, and progress updates.
• Track critical path activities and ensure timely execution of key milestones.
• Review contractor and subcontractor programmes and ensure alignment with project objectives.

Progress Monitoring & Analysis

• Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify delays, risks, and potential impacts.
• Monitor planned vs. actual progress and maintain accurate project records.
• Analyse project performance and provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct delay analysis and assist in developing mitigation and recovery plans.

Reporting & Communication

• Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and schedule updates for management.
• Participate in project planning meetings and provide updates on programme status.
• Ensure planning and reporting processes are aligned with project requirements and company standards.

Stakeholder Coordination & Support

• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Support resource planning, productivity monitoring, and forecasting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in planning and project controls within the construction industry.
• Previous experience specifically serving as a Senior Planning Engineer is mandatory.
• Previous experience working specifically as a Senior Planning Engineer in UAE is mandatory.
• Experience working on luxury, high-end residential, hospitality, commercial, or premium construction projects is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and project controls.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, progress measurement, critical path analysis, and delay analysis.
• Excellent understanding of construction methodologies and project execution.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
